About 6 years back I flew 22k ft with a 912S on a Trike (DTA Voyageur, 230kg empty+40l fuel(30kg)+ myself w. gear 95kg = 355kg), I was still climbing at 200ft/min then..it just got too cold (sitting in the open) . So I guess a Sinus , being so much more efficient (Aerodynamicaly) shld definitly get there easyily!
Post your exp. once done!

Well done Stefan!
other notable altitudes:
-Jerry Reinhardt Cessna 150 Aerobat with prototype 914: 23,000ft and still climbing at 200ft/min.
-General Atomics Altus II with twin turbo 914: 65,000ft for 24hrs.

well, in retrospect, I cannot quite remember if it was the 912(80hp) or the 912S(100hp) and if it was 200ft/min or 250ft/min. I changed engines in that period as here we are restricted to TBO (Africa! you'd think anything goes!)
BUt hauling a C150 up there with a 914 seems an achievement...that made me reflect on the 912 vs 912s issue.....as I said I DO REMEMBER to have felt quite cold....had frostbite in fingers taking pics of Kilimajaro...two weeks after!

I think 22,000 ft in a trike takes the cake.
Can you post the pictures of Mt Kilimanjaro?
