Very true....it was a rather fragile machine..as a lot of them were from those days. Thats why I got involved in the design and construction of a "heavy duty" rugged Trike (I come from Hanggliding) but once met J.M. Dizier in france and saw how far he was with the DTA Voyageur...bought No. 3 from him straight away and shipped it to Africa.
Ive done app 4000+ hrs on it now and landed it into some REALLY rough terrain (sometimes couldnt look out of my eyeballs due to bouncing)...hit an overgrown hyena hole once...gave a huge jolt but nothing was bent or broken. its held up really well and I didnt need to replace any chassis parts until now! Even the powdercoated "paint" held up well! 2nd engine and 3rd wing 5 props (they last due to good groundclearance)...
