The output current from a failed pressure sensor is undefined by Rotax and Keller because it depends on the failure mode.
There may be different output current depending on the internal electronics and whether the root cause failure is electronic or mechanical (internal).
Therefore, in your situation of a failed sensor, I understand the output current could be 0mA and this matches your Dynon display. Sounds like the Dynon is setup to show
0mA = 0 Bar (Your case of a failed sensor)
4mA = 0.75 Bar
20mA = 10.75 Bar
My point was that for a working sensor, if you lose oil pressure, the sensor will output 4mA which will read as 0.8 Bar. I have measured and confirmed this by measuring the 4mA with the engine OFF.
I have the old resistance type (not the later (4 - 20ma Keller) oil pressure sender and it's failed again. I was thinking of replacing it with the later version (Keller) but have been told by a Rotax mechanic that they are also failing quite often. Does anybody have any experience with these "new" senders failing?
I also see that the new sender requires a cable kit and the price I'm getting in France is around 90 euros. Is that what you're seeing in the rest of the world?

Maybe you are too close to a heat source or too much vibration. Maybe moving it to the firewall may b a better solution. If you do move it make sure the oil hose is in fire sleeve.

The Rotax mechanic may have been thinking about the Honeywell sensor that replaced the VDO?
The Keller has been good, no problems that I know of. It is important to mount the Keller correctly; as per SI-912-020 section 79-00-00... you need to tap the oil pump to M10x1 straight threads so the sensor tightens up against the pump housing. This is important as the contacting surfaces greatly reduce the vibration of the sensor.
I agree with Roger that remote mounting the sensor to the firewall is the best solution.
