The new engine is being installed today. The mechanic was not confident that the old engine would be reliable in flight.

Hi All. Just joined this blog - looks very useful. Some useful tips here. Does the same apply to the 462, eg. same thing about plug gaps etc? My 462 XL-Q microlight is a pig to start on the puller unless you can really spin t over (I definitely need some practice!). Any 462 owners on here with advice, suggestions - all welcome!

HI Nigel....have yo tried sitting on the passenger seat and pulling from there...you can get a much better pull,
Heard of guys blocking one side on the carb vent pipe and blowing in the other...floods he carb I believe,
Or with a syringe injecting neat 2 stroke mix into the primer nipple if you have one on your carb.

James, did you check the ohms on the stator plate as somepone here advisewd earlier? The reason I ask is because I had all the same symptoms as you (see topic... 582 wont start) and it was in fact the stator plate.
