Here is the latest. A Rotax mechanic has replaced the seals, pistons, and cylinders. It turns out the water pump had about 20 hours left before it would have failed. It starts but doesn't get full power. Now we are into the electical systems
Don't understand why cylinders were replaced..There are six different size pistons that could fit unless it was on the third oversize assuming it ran without any catastrophe/seizure etc.What were the EGT's when it ran? That will tell the story...
This was a used engine bought from a "reliable" maybe questionable person. I don't have any history. I think he pieced it together from parts and sold it as good engine with no problems. I can hardly wait to catch up to him at the next fly in.
