HI guys,
sorry for long absence! I've posted a pic of the burnt part ..seems to be that wound resisitor. On my Multimeter it reads only 0,002 OHM ! shorted?
As i live down here in Tanzania I guess I'd have to scavenge a suitable resistor from scrap.
What should the resisto read?
When I connect the Flydat to 12V the display flashes on/off/ in 1/2 sec frequency and says "service".
It said "service" the last few years since I exeeded TBO on the old 912 and changed to 912S (800hrs ago)..so thats normal..but the flashiing isn't.
2nd pic shows the back side with no signs of heating

Forgot to state: it is the older type (1993)

It should be 0,57Ohm
It's best to check or replace rectifier diodes too.

If multimeter shows you 0,002ohm I think is not resistor resistance, try to remove it and then check. Try to remove diodes and check resistence in both directions - in one you should have full resistance but reversed should be conductive. Probably you have to big fuse inserted into flyda, for testing apply very small (about 0,5-1A).

if I apply multimeter (diode setting)to the 2 diodes(BY255 in pic) they show infinity in one and .565 and .543 in the other direction, so I assume they are OK?

I found a 5A Fuse in the FLYDAT and according to manual (www.net) is should be 3A...bummer!
