Re: How difficult (how many hours) to sync carbs?

Good information. On the carbmate what do the right and left- plus and minus numbers actually mean? Mine is good at 2500 but then I get a minus 1 at over 4000 rpm which is where any vibration would be most significant . Would it be better to zero it out at higher RPMS?

Hey Roger
Why not balance them where we actually run at around 5000?

While syncing my carbs yesterday I noticed at full throttle the cables get very loose and leave about 1/2 inch waist on the throttle control. Is this something that should be adjusted? This plane is new to us so we don't know who worked on it in prior services>

You may have some slack in the cable at wide open and that can be very normal depending on your throttle type and setup.
My personal preference and from the looks of it many others like to sync up around 3300 - 3500 because 2500 is just too low and in the idle circuit and 3300 is a little more representative of more fuel / air flow. The times I have used only 2500 the needles on the gauge split again as the throttle is advanced on up to 3500+.
Just my personal preference.
