    I installed the final torque and safety on the engine mount and I installed the lower hoses. Yes, they fit, no extra room, but they fit. The one point I was struggling with on the left side is that the angle of my fitting is to reduce stress on the the hose but it was such a high angle that the hose clamp BARELY fit between the ignition electronic pick up and the engine block. I ended up assembling the hose to the water pump cover and THEN installing said pump cover. I think I will be able to replace the hose without removing the water pump cover but it promises to be a real pain. In the words of Guy Buchanan, heres a few thousand words.

    Question? instead of a zip tie to hold a piece of split tubing over a hose for abrasion protection, could I use high temp RTV or gasket maker as an adhesive?
    Now when the zip tie gets hot and becomes brittle, it won't fall off, because, ... its not there in the first place.

    Also look at...
    "Red Silicone Rubber Self Fusing Tape" A.K.A. "Rescue Tape". (Google it.)

    It is good for 500°F+.
    If you're tight on space, the tape alone will do.

    many call it "End Wrap" tape. It's becoming quite popular to use on the ends of fire sleeve instead of trying to use "End Dip". (http://www.atlantexmfg.com/pyrotex-end-dip/).... The End Dip has to sit and dry where as the End Wrap tape goes on and like a tape, but then fuses together and becomes more solid around the area you applied it to. It works very well. I always have some in stock.

    Another possibility is to use Tefzel zip ties. They ain't cheap though.

    If these are plastic wire ties these shouldn't be used on the ends of the fire sleeve. The reason for End Dip or the End Wrap is to prevent fluid absorption. Plus plastic wire ties burn off quick.
    The standard is to use "End Dip" (#1 and expensive) OR "End Wrap" (#2) and then a Band-It clamp on the hose to secure it. You see Band-It clamps for certified aircraft. That's the gold standard.
