Dennis, I have been told (by battery salesmen) that if you run a load that will internally warm the battery and that then it will crank well. Have you found that to be the case?
I have been using a Lithium battery for close to 3 years. It was a tremendous weight saving and has been absolutely trouble free except that the battery lacks enough energy to start the engine at anything colder than 0C. As I fly a lot in Canadian winter conditions I have learner that I have to preheat at anytime I allow the battery to cool to 0C.
