The bourdon tube is a metal "C" shaped tube and kind of flat and hollow tube inside the gauge. Depending on the gauge application it may be made out of different metals. A brass allow is common. It will flex when pressure or vacuum is applied inside the gauge. The gauge needle is attached and when the tube expands or contracts it moves the needle on the face of the gauge.
