YEP, sure was. Surprising how much wash off the prop at idle. The hard part was when I had to get the mirror... then it was the camera and torch in the same hand. When holding the mirror, the back of my hand was 3" from the prop... plenty of room.

Got the rads reverse flushed and checked inside with an end-scope. All looks great. The same guy agreed to come to my place and use the end-scope to view through the plug holes for damage. He said it was normal wear and tare but could not see the part through the exhaust manifold because we could not get it off. He said if there was any significant damage to the cylinder it would have shown tell tale sign where he had already checked anyway.

Didn't get a chance to test fly it yet.

I made an error in my rad measurements... thet are 7.5 inches x 6 inches. NOT 9 x 6. How does that compare with the rotax rads?Can anyone give me the measurements of the Rotax rads?

Mike,

The rotax rads (cooling fin area) are 220mm high X 109mm wide X 32mm thick.

That equates to 37 square inches and mine is 54 square inches, so yeah... quite a bit larger. Makes you wonder though, if she overheats with a larger rad, then she has a big problem. Someone asked earlier to see how she goes without the cowl, well it does definitely run a bit cooler, meaning I can get an extra 500-1000' more climb before redline temp is reached.
