    Hi Mike,

    You can set the prop with a prop protractor and a digital 12" level or just the level.(actually almost any thing that can measure an angle) I have set them with my IPAD in the field.

    If you need help with a prop adjustment I'll be happy to walk you through it. It is easy and should only take 30-40 min.from start to finish. You can call me at the number below.

    That would be good Rodger, except I live on the other side of the world to you. If you have a chat program like yahoo or Skype I could set up my laptop in front of my aircraft and you could watch me do it and make sure I do it right if you like. Wait till I get a proper protractor though... a couple weeks I reckon.

    I was able to track down the GSC propeller manufacturers website and get full instructions on how to check the pitch angle. I have found that all 3 blades are perfectly set at 20 deg pitch at the 75% position point along the blade as advised by the manufacturerwhich is good news.

    The not so good news is that one blade is about 0.75 deg higher, i.e. 2 blades 14 deg at the tip and the 3rd blade is 15 deg at the tip. It seems one blade has slightly more twist in it that the others. Do you think that could cause a change in the rpm? The tolerance is apparently half a degree, so I am close to the mark.

    This is how I did it FYI... Took off the spinner and zero'd the pitch tool against the hub (see pics below). Then slipped the tool over the blade and moved it toward the hub until snug. Then read off the pitch from needle hanging down loosely. I did the same procedure for each blade... i.e. checking the hub was zero'd for each blade (which it was).
