had my fuel pump replaced at annual due to Service Bulletin SB-912-063. Was not having any problems with my old fuel pump. After about 25 hours with the new fuel pump, the low fuel pressure alarm started sounding on take off at about 1000' until 1300', then the pressure would climb back up to normal and remain normal for the rest of the flight. If the engine is warm from a flight, the 2nd flight of the day, the alarm doesn't go off. I had the sensor/probe replaced and that didn't solve the problem.
Help! Any ideas????
the alarm goes off on the first flight of the day on climb out every time, usually between 1000 and 1300' the pressure falls from 3.5-4.5 down to 1.8-1.9, then the pressure climbs to normal and is normal through out the flight. The alarm goes off if the pressure falls below 1.9.
I have the same issue, from day one. My 912uls is a newer one with the new fuel pump already installed at the factory. Now have 130 hrs on the engine and it is still doing it. Never a hiccup or hesitation in the engine, just that low pressure alarm usually on first flight but sometimes on later flights that day. Fuel sensor accuracy appears to be good.
I have gotten to the point where I pretty much ignore the alarm because the pressure soon comes back to normal. However, this continues to bother me. I wish Rotax would look into this because it seems to be somewhat common. It would be nice to know how low the fuel pressure can really go before you actually have engine trouble.
