I have read that Rotax suggest using two fuel filters after the fuel pump and to not use paper filters.
However, now, I can't seem to find this suggestion in our manuals or on the web.
I think it also mentioned the mesh size etc.
Can someone direct me as to where this is in print?

I have never seen filter specs for a rotax 2 cycle. The 912 specs call for a coarse filter in the tank and a fine filter downstream with a mesh size of not more than ,1mm . Most guys use the small clear plastic filters with either a sintered bronze or SS wire mesh element for the 2 cycles.. I prefer the SS mesh because it can be cleaned out and reused, you can see the trash in it, and they are only three or four bucks. A gascolator is good insurance also. It removes water in the fuel and also has a fine mesh SS screen.
Rotax does specify no paper filters.

The one supplied by Rotax is the go in the IPC- you can pull it apart and reuse it, although with a Mr Filter as well its hardly ever got any dirt in it!
The fuel filter spec is in the 2 stroke insulation manual page 15/2 under fuel sys....its says a filter with a mesh size of 0.15mm...I could never find the mesh size details for any filter I have bought...I was always worried that to fine a filter could block very quickly.
Thanks. It does state not to use a paper filter so I went ahead and installed a sintered porous bronze filter before each carb. and one prior to the fuel pump. The average micron rating is between 40 to 70 but not sure how that compares to 0.15 mm. I hope this is ok.
