finding the Rotax engine manufacture date and model

Hi, could I please find the date of manufacture of my new (old) Rotax 912 - serial number 4400691

Engine Type: ROTAX 912 UL

Model Number: 309120010

(no additional information is found in the factory database)

Thanks. If I look at other engine srl numbers around 4400961 they seem be around 2002?

1995 seems a bit early?

Hi Jeff!  The records are quite clear in this case, 4400691 was produced 6th December 1995 and delivered to the Australian distributor on 18th December 1995

ROTAX serials are spread out across different production runs of numerous models of engines, so serial number can't reliably be used to accurately infer production dates.

BTW, if you are actually asking about 4400961 - that engine is a 912UL produced 04-Apr-1996...
