Thanks Mark, I'll look into getting the gearbox serviced. Prop is a Warpdrive 3 blade 64" ground adjustable. Normally the engine seems to run very smoothly. Cheers.

New airplane with a very low time 912 ULS. Never run in the cold Minnesota climate. Will it start when it's below 0 degrees F? or do I need a warming blanket etc.

If it was mine I would put a Tanis engine pre-heater in. It's the gold standard and will serve you well. It is easy to install. I would also put a blanket over it. You'll be shocked at how easy iy will be to start and how warm the engine will be on those cold mornings. All the owners I have installed a Tanis have all been happy.
