As long as you are using a bluetooth mouse (or trackball) it should be fine (the BUDS software wasn't designed with touchscreen in mind).

Actually, I was able to use it with the touchscreen, in Windows 10.

Hi. I’d like to buy a cheap laptop with Windows 10 just to use the dongle and buds. Any input on what minimum spec laptop would do please? Thanks.

Actually, the BUDS program, even the newer one, is not that resource hungry, and neither Windows 10. I've been using it for a while in a cheap ASUS convertible. The issue is more the screen. Using it in the cockpit is akin to using it outdoors. Two megs RAM should be enough. Spend the extra in brightness, and in a USB. Many of the laptops are abandoning now the old usb 1 and 2 standar.
