Actually unless you take the diagnostic training class for it the distributor is not supposed to hand that out. It requires special training, there is no written support documents for it.
Leo, there is no online class for this There will be a 2 or 3 day class offered by the Canadian distributor (I see you are in Canada) You would need to have an existing iRMT rating to qualify for it I believe.
Wait... what?! The BUDS log viewer training is restricted to iRMTs only? So, nothing is improving for owner/operators then.
I just spent 15 min going through flyrotax.com, rotaxirmt.com, lockwood.aero, flysmla.com and motive.aero. Only Motive's website shows a course that looks like what you're talking about: "9-Series Injected Diagnostic Course." Sure enough, the prerequisite is a "valid iRMT Service and Maintenance certificate."
I'll be darned if I can figure out how to earn an iRMT certificate. None of the training sites explain how to do it and none of the course descriptions end with that certificate. It seems to be a closely guarded secret.
Go to www.rotaxflyingclub.com and you will find all the training classes that offer iRMT training. The log viewer is kind of complicated and Rotax has put a caveat on it for any release, you must take the training to gain access to it. All the training centres are gearing up to start teaching this so I expect the others will offer it very soon.
