Re: Lane A Light On,Engine rough but all gauges on

Hi Kevin, how did you come to that opinion?
The engine should be smooth and make full power on Lane B, Lane A and both.
You may notice a slight RPM drop (or rise as it switches to power mode) when running on only 1 lane but it should be smooth.

Rob,
When I went through the 912iS training we were able to experiment with the engine running on lane B only, it clearly ran rough, and rich. As you know lane B receives a lot less information from the engine to control the fuel mapping.

Kevin,
Lane B still receives the essential information to continuously run full power at the same fuel mixture as with both Lanes operating.
I would not call this a limp-home mode.

My point is this is not a limp-home mode. If you have an auto-conversion it may have a limp-home mode; the engine goes to idle to save itself... of course this is the worst possible situation for the pilot and Pax as you suddenly have a huge amount of drag.
So we are all correct if we drop that term.
