    Hi Roger,
    photo's below. The Aircraft is finished (in Feb) arrived in May and i have 100 hrs on it so far. I love the IS engine, starts easily, runs smoother than the carbed engines and I get good fuel economy (15.1 L/hr @100kts IAS).

    Hi Glenn, nice lookin plane. I noticed your air filter is on the inside of the engine, is it not collecting hot air into the system, reducing efficiency? I am test flying aircraft up here in China and when i arrived they had the filter installed inside like yours. I made them make a new cowl with scoop and filter and hose to intake.Is yours working ok? i hope i havent made them do unnecessary mods.I assumed the engine would be more efficient with out side air. it gets ver hot under that cowl. Appreciate yours and any one elses comments. Ta

    The engine will run better with cool dry air. Depending on where you live that may not be possible like Hot humid climates that never cool or because their cowl isn't setup for outside air. Many do have the air filters open and obtaining warm air from inside the cowl. This makes them run a little rich and more or less in carb ice prevention all the time. The engine runs just fine. If you can get the cool dry air great and if not just enjoy your flying and don't loose any sleep over it.
