Top-Left Cyl # 2. It was sticking out over 1 inch. I had been having problems with the idle for a while so I don't think it came out all at once. Inflight smelled hot, cyl head temp pegged, power reduced to 45%. Engine destroyed but got back to the airport safely.
This particular bolt/nut coming loose is an indication that this engine was overheated. The overheat caused the head to loose it's hardness and the torque of this nut to lower. Did you have any history of high CHTs?
