Alternator fail light

My 912ULS has about 700 hours on it now, and starting just recently the alternator fail light sometimes stays on right after startup for 20 or 30 seconds before extinguishing on its own. My idle speed at startup is around 2000RPM. Increasing RPM does not seem to help. My concern is that it never did this till just recently. In the past the light would extinguish immediately when the engine started. Any ideas on what might be causing it, and if it should be a concern? Thanks!
