Hi David,

That erosion looks like a lot of water and or acidic reaction because of 100LL lead in the oil and moisture?
How many hours on that engine and where does it live and is it always hangared?

Negative Roger, never had any sign of condensation in oil, never use avgas, vibes started at around 1000 hours, always hangered in desert enviroment.

Note, once this eroded shaft was discovered i condemed the engine.
Alot of shaveings through the hole unit.
One of those" could only happen to me" things.
Iv done over 7000 hours on 912/914 engines and never had an issue cept for this ne.
