    I think there are approximately 22 master distributors worldwide. One example would be Kodiak for all the America's. A sub distributor would be like Lockwood, CPS and Leading Edge.

    Is this analogy wrong?

    ahh, I see....
    I would call them: the 22 distributors (Kodiak) and independent Service Centers (iSC) (Lockwood, CPS, LEAF)

    Hello Rob, Roger, Conrad,

    thanks for trying to help me, but as Conrad wrote, it does not feel logical for me as an end user.

    My Engine was built in 2002/2003, and according to SB-912-041UL R2 has a "new" TBO of 1.500 h / 12 years, meaning the engine is out of TBO-time, althouh it has only run 780 h. When we bought th engine the TBO was shorter, so my engine was luckily one which got a better TBo with that SB. That gives me the idea, that things said in this SB are valid for my engine - and it says the 800h-thing. (For a private owner in Germany the TBO is a recommendation, not a 'fixed rule'.)

    I'am not using Avgas 100LL, but regular unleaded fuel for cars, the engine is equipped with an overload clutch. -> from your disussion I note that this engine needs the inspection at 1.000 h.

    Writing that the SB and the maintenance schedule should not be confused / mixed up confuses me :blink: since I thought that a SB is as "trustworthy" as the maintenance manual. I quoted from the SB, that - again quoting -: "all engines of type 912 ULS [..] need to receive a inspection of the propeller gearbox at 800 h TSN [...]"

    Regardless of TBO, in your discussion only 600 h and 1.000 h inspections are right, but for what cases are the 800 h mentioned in the SB?

    Hope I can be understood since my english is not the best and rusty.

    Hi Curt,
    Here is an example:
    Situation #1: Every year you do your annual inspections according to the checklist in the Line Maintenance manual. After reviewing the SB list you decide, as the owner of the aircraft, not to do the optional SB-912-041. You would not do the 800hr inspection.
    Situation #2:
    You decide to increase the TBO by complying with SB-912-041. then you must do the 800hr gearbox inspection.
