Hey Rob. Thanks for the detailed description of the squeak. On the oil question, I use the Shell Sport 4. I have not noticed a squeak on mine, but I have heard it at fly-ins on other Rotax powered aircraft while walking the ramp, some of which are pretty profound. Not knowing the history of them; age, hours, and condition, I was still curious of the cause. I have been wondering if mine may be making a similar noise. I always have my headset on during shutdown, but I plan to test that on my next shutdown with my headset off. I use Scott's recommendation for a shutdown sequence, which seems to produce a pretty gentle engine stop.
I would like to know if it is the heavier props like the Warp that has more inertia to loose when it stops. I had it on a Warp once, but since switching to a lighter Sensenich it is gone.
