912 gearbox ratio

I'm trying to find out the ratio of the gearbox in my 912A that has a slipper clutch fitted. It seems the 80 hp can have either 2.27 or 2.43.or do all the slipper clutch variants have 2.43 ?

No, it is very unlikely to have a 2.43:1.
All the 912A 80hp engines came with 2.2727:1, with or without the clutch.
But owners can install an optional 2.43:1 gear set (It is the same as used in the old 914 with the narrow 2.43:1 gears)

@ andrew owen : If in doubt, you can use the process described in this video ... (it's the same procedure for either 912 or 914)

how can it have a different gear ratio if the big gear has 51 teeth it has to be 2.43 ratio and the small gear has to be 21 teeth both gears have to b bigger or smaller to change the ratio
