912 WOT max RPM 2600

Rotax 912ULS with about 60 hours. Maximum RPM at full throttle is only 2600RPM

Had this plane out about three weeks ago. OAT: 93F, CHT : 245 F, engine normal WOT RPM about 4950 to 5000.

Started up to fly today 9/29/25. Max RPM at WOT is 2620 , Fuel Flow indicated 6.7GPM, Fuel Pressure indicated 3.1PSI.

Fuel: 100LL

>Disconnected fuel lines, checked fuel flow at filter, gascolator and at engine fuel pump.

>Check carburetor throttle and choke linkage.

>Checked fuel quantity in tanks.

>Let engine cool and restarted several times, max RPM remained about 2600 RPM.

Engine starts up and runs smooth.

No abnormal sounds or vibrations.

I would greatly appreciate any advice.

    Hi Patrick,

What sort of propeller are you using?

Propeller pitch setting likly too course.

Your engine should be able to deliver a WOT minimum of 5200 rpm during take off & climb out.

The above may not be correct for E-Prop - follow factory recommended settings.😈

Check your numbers again. At 2620 RPM you should be using less than1.5 GPH. If you are really using 6.7 GPM, a full fuel tank would only last a few minutes. Could your gauges tach and fuel flow be giving you bad information ?

I’m guessing that the rpm reads are not accurate or the propeller is over pitched.
