14 should be still acceptable. If you have overvoltage, regulator is broken.

I wouldn't worry to 14.2. Probably should reset the high alarm number a little. Seems normal from what I see and hear which is 13.5-14.0.

Unfortunately instrument accuracy and wiring setup from plane to plane will cause those tenths of a volt difference.

Hi
I have the reverse problem of probably low voltage causing the battery (new) to occasionally loose charge.
Where should I connect a volt meter to be able to see if the alternator is delivering or if the regulator is failing?
Thanks for any advise on this.

You should measure AC voltage on yellow wires from magneto to regulator.
It there will be ok, check regulator. You can check " Charging System Troubleshooting" video in rotax-owner page.
