912 ULS Low Oil Temp

I have an MTO Autogyro with a 912 ULS. It has side air scoops and oil radiators in each scoop which work very well (too well). The temp comes up when taxing with a tail wind to the bottom of the green, but stays solid in the yellow when flying. In fact it hovers on the lower end of the yellow when cold out. Not sure off the top of my head the temps that correspond with the color ranges, but my question is, is it a problem running with the oil in the cool to cold range? It's always out of the lower red, but wasn't sure if the oil is heating up enough to be effective.

    Hi Jason,

    If you are still in the yellow then you are below 120F which is minimum operating temp. You could place some aluminum tape over part of the oil cooler and get the oil temps up. You will be better served if you are at least 200F . 212F to 220F would be ideal to help get rid of contaminates. Engine temps are necessary to certain engine parts.

    Thanks, was thinking that I'd cover up part of the cooler. I've noticed that moisture can build in the oil cap until 220 is reached to evaporate it out, so assumed other contaminates as well.
