If the plug gap is too wide and you have the old starter that will add to your starting issues.
.023 - .027 for the plugs. Use the .023 for cold weather. The older starter is black in color. The newer starter that has been around for many years now is a higher torque starter and can help. This and all the things above need to be looked at. It may not be just one thing.
