Hi, I am new to forum. Need some help about the timing marks on camshaft and crankshaft gears on a rotax 912 uls engine. And also , camshaft for 80 hp and 100 hp is the same or different. Any quick will be highly appreciated.

Hi Farid
The only timing marks are when No.1 cylinder is at top dead centre, the line scribed on the camshaft gear is inline with the crankcase joint.
The camshafts are different on 912 and 912s engines.

Mark, there is another mark on the crank gear as well. whats that for?

Sorry, I dont have pic as I have partially assembled the engine now. I mean the gear on the crankshaft which joins with the gear on the crankshaft. So there is a mark on the crankshaft gear as well. But today I checked the way you mntioned. Both ways its ok. if you allign both the marks on camshaft gear and crankshaft gear or allighn the camshaft mark with the engine joint and keep the piston on TDC. Thanks for help.
