Hi, when i push a 914 turbo that i am working on into turbo it loses power and the fuel gage fluctuate. I changed the fuel filters,cleaned the small filters in the fuel pumps and cleaned the carbs but the problems still exist. I have bypassed the 3 way solenoid between the airbox and the carbs then the problem seem to dissapear but only when the engine is at normal to limit running temps.

Mossie, have a very close examination of the carb diaphragms...very close....light and magnification . Look for a minute hole or evidence of the diaphragm stretching.
I have just been down this road myself but mine was associated with vibration.
The fault was about 2mm by 1mm and did not appear to penetrate. New diaphragm hey presto.Hard to believe.

Had heaps of trouble with my 914 when thottle opened past 100% turned out to be the fuel pressure reg engine was not getting fuel on take off but ran ok at 100%
