I do not have my motor back from the repair shop yet but it looks to me like the 100HP needs to be preheated anytime the tempiture dropes below 50 degrees to help avoid most of these starting issues. I'll let you know if I ever get it back from the shop as even in the summer my morning tempitures are rarely above 50 degrees.

Pre heat is always good and also a good warm up before flying. If you are having kickback problems, pre heat will help BUT read all these posts about 4 more times because you are missing what cures the kickback. It is SOFT START.
