Seems like I have to perform this task as well. The peep hole is dripping. Was it a diffucult job ? Would it be possible to perform with a gently mechanic hand and some improvised tools ?

Thomas,

If you are used to doing any mechanical work, this is a job you can do yourself. Two things however, are a must.

(a) Follow the heavy maintenance manual exactly.

(b) Do not use improvised tools to install the ceramic seal. The rotax seal tool is a must for this job.

Thanks Bill,

I will the for sure order the insertion tool for the ceramic seal and follow the HMM and the SL to every point.

Assuming the gear, impellershaft etc can be pressed out with som basic DIY press tools. I have a lathe in my workshop, so I can make some special tools.

Unfortunatly, I have to take the engine out from the fuselage. I dont want to struggle into the summer season with a worse leak.

Bill,

Guessing you have done the job before ? Could you please list the parts needed for this task. I am aware of the waterpump cover gasket, the ceramit seal, drain gasket and the o-ring on the water manifold. Any other parts futher in ? A oil seal inside of the ceramic seal ?

Thanks alot. Guess next week will go to pulling a newly installed engine out of the mount and wait for spares :sick:

You should get a new oil seal and impeller shaft for what it costs. Also the o-ring for the oil way in the mag housing.
