A wild guess would be that there is a problem with the Idle circuit ports.
Try cleaning the carb.

Look in the Float Bowl first.
If it has any debris, you are on the right track.

The first thing I would do is clean the carb/carbs, in particular the idle jet and idle circuits.

Make sure you are running 50:1 ratio.
We had a bloke at our airfield that thought 40:1 would be safer but it wouldn't idle, we changed his fuel with the correct ratio and it idled fine.

Drained the tank and replaced with fresh 50:1 fuel. Disassembled carberator twice and cleaned it. Still no luck...
