Question for Dave Smith...those temps you quote with your modified sender...are they deg C or F.
My CHT temps ind around 140c which seems a bit on the cool side....so are you saying I can prob add 25degs to that.

My readings are in degrees F.
Your 140C is 284F - pretty cool.

Always check your instrumentation before making changes!
I get around 275/325F when cruising at ~5100, so it certainly doesn't harm to have temperatures that low. It does go up to 350/400F at full chat. ( I still get just under +50F on the front pot, despite having fitted the extra baffle - but it's better than before.)
If you were getting tight bores, that would actually raise the temps, wouldn't it?
