I have been trying to lookup the year of manufacture of my 912 and so far no luck. I see that I need to go through a distributor for this. I cannot understand why Rotax would withold this information from the public. My SN is 5647366.

What an excellent and comprehensive response. Please keep the pressure up on Rotax! In the meantime can you provide the same information for my Rotax 912 UL? It doesn't have an oil cooler which seems unusual, was this its original configuration? The serial number is 4406995
