The OEM pumps are not rebuildable; cannot be opened. The new OEM pumps look like they can be opened since they are bolted together but I think that I read somewhere that they are not rebuildable either.
The billet pumps are rebuildable. No diaphragm; just O rings. and come with a separate fuel pressure regulator.
The new pumps for the 912 are out and should be the one to use. Billet has come up on forums a time or two and I have talked to the owner. I would personally use the new Rotax fuel pump. I have not had to use one yet, but have heard some good things. I did hear they are running higher fuel pressures. As they get more time on the market they should show some type of track record. Rotax did test these for many hours before putting these on the market.

I'd like to hear from people who've seen the new-style pump installed. I purchased one, but have not installed it yet.
Rotax was pretty clear that the "drain hose" that is attached to the new drain port MUST be installed, and MUST be installed in such a way to keep fuel away from hot engine components, and in relatively "neutral" air.
In most tractor configurations, I'd think that a simple drain line going straight down, would either put the fuel drain upstream of cylinders or the hot exhaust (not a good thing), or if the drain was placed too low (like at the bottom of a cowling), is would be in a lot of airflow (also not a good thing)
Snaking a drain line rearward toward the firewall, seems like a major pain in the rump, too.
