I have an old version of the 912ULS s/n 4428716 that I'm installing on my 601 Hds zenair. I saw in the forum that someone change its Rotax oil cooler, I have this brand new oil cooler https://www.jegs.com/i/Earls/361/41600/10002/-1. Is it a good idea to install this product instead an old bersion of the Rotax oil cooler?
You did not say where you are from but this oil cooler is the same brand and larger than the one on my Rans Coyote with the same engine. My cooler is more than enough for the Vancouver BC area where i live. I have to cover part of it in winter to get the oil temperature up.
I have a Rans in my shop right now with one of those coolers. It should work. The biggest key to making any cooler work is good access to forced cool air from the outside. If a cooler doesn't get good air flow then none would work as designed.
