I would make sure you had no air leaks on the high EGT side and then it would most likely come down to a bad probe or poor wire connection anywhere from the probe to the instrument.Do you have header wrap and if you do does it wrap around or touch the EGT probe?

What are the temps for all four cylinders ? I am having trouble myself with cylinder 4, cyl 2 is prob higher than it should be but the fronts on mine run cooler than the rears. Isn't 800c = 1472 fahrenheit ? If so, you don't have high egt's at all. My #4 is going past 1620 F/882c

My egt climbing until I get to 5250 rpm then it starts dropping and gets back in line with the others.
