Old stock crate engine?

Hello,

New member. I’m looking at an airplane project that comes with a crated engine dated about 2000. What should I be concerned about and what should be accomplished before attempting to run this engine?

What was the storage conditions?
In garage with dirt floor next to the ocean? You may have some problems.

Clean dry storage. The exterior of the engine looks brand new.
