ENGINE COWLING,TURBO CHARGER COWLING FOR EFFICENCY

can we increas the turbo charger efficency if we wrap the exhaust system by special cloth .
as the heat loss from turbo charger turbine , the cowling stopped that heat and efficiency may increased?

    Hi David,
    Not really. The system pipes are just too short. Race car drivers wrap their exhaust because of the long exhaust pipes and they want to keep the exhaust gas hot so it flows better and faster all the way out the exhaust. They are trying to eek out every ounce of HP.
    Wrapping the exhaust for us does better for reducing both radiated and convected heat on hoses, engine mounts and wiring. It helps some with the under the cowl temps.

    Roger Lee,
    its amazing result, 100% throttle , Engine 914 give 5800 rpm during taxi.where as CHT120C higher level,EGT normal range.
    shoul we go for 115% throttle?
