Copying Instruction Videos

I would like to make copies of the instruction videos to a flash drive so I can play them on the laptop in my hangar. I don't know how to do this as all my attempts to make a file of the videos do not play. Can someone let me know if this is permitted and what the procedure is? I have a PC with Windows XP. I don't want to load the videos directly on the laptop because it has limited memory.
