Yes that's correct the above only applies for a ground adjustable propeller.
From the information I have (from my friends that have a in flight adjustable prop's) they cruise @ 4800 with 24'' of MAP
Roger can correct me if I am wrong

140 knots is interesting. Is your P2008 a 914 turbo registered as Experimental?

I still would not run my variable pitched prop under 5K rpm. It would be even better around 5200. This last part is from observing others and some of my personal preference.
Maybe Rob will chime in on a good cruise rpm for a variable pitch prop.
