Rotary seal

I have a Rotax 912 ul that is seeping coolant from the Weep hole under the water pump. I have read on several posts in various forums that it is okay for a few drops of coolant to be present after running the engine. Mine seems to leak all the time and I have also read that some service centers have recommended using bars leak to fix the dripping if its not too bad. Any comments out there from people who have tried this remedy? If not does anyone know a Rotax mechanic near Austin Texas?

    If it is a constant drip or more than a tablespoon or so then you need to replace the pump seal. A small amounmt may happen on some engine and from some flights. I think it's more present in cold weather, but could happen any time.

    Roger, I just bought the plane, and noticed some coolant below the engine, on the keel tube (Rans S-14) I have the wings off replacing the fuel lines, and am dong a rubber replacement on the motor. I spotted the coolant, and so looked in the expansion tank, and it is about half full. I know it should be at the top. I dont know how long it took the coolant to get to this level, but I cleaned the coolant, and a day later, a drip is hanging off the bottom of the water pump. The ceramic seals may have a piece of trash in them, and I noticed the radiator cap was the .9 bar cap. I might try the 1.2 bar cap and keep an eye on the level. Problem is its real easy to get to with the wings off, not so much with them on, so I would kind of like to go ahead and take care of the problem now. Any ball park figures on what the job costs to have done? Priced the parts out at roughly $200. I am handy, but dont have the special tools, and figure I can get the job done for what the tools will cost me, and may never need them again.
