hello rotax forum
I just joined and this is my first post.
my hobby is building custom ice fishing and racing machines in more of a go kart scale.
I was just given a rotax motor and it's the first time I've handled one.
next project is a 4wheel drive cart with custom tracks instead of wheels so want to know about this rotax motor I have on my bench.,
I don't see a 3 digit model number but the serial plate is intact. serial # 1198441 . I see people mentioning numbers followed by "UL" this one says 4000UL plus a bunch of other stuff i don't understand LOL
can anyone identify this motor?
Serial number 1198441 is not found in the factory aircraft engine database.
"4000UL" is probably not the model number!
Can you post some photos?
It may not be an aircraft engine at all, but there is a possibility it could be a really old 2-stroke aircraft engine - there are some quite obscure ones ( in which case I might be able to look it up in the ancient paper archives of the North American distributor...)
