New vs Old Shell plus 4

I have an opportunity to buy 2 cases of the "OLD" Shell Plus 4 oil at a substantial discount from a local supplier who wishes to get rid of it. It seems he cannot sell the "old" oil. Can someone tell me what if any significant difference there is between the two? It seems to me that since the "old" oil was perfectly good for many years that maybe this "reformation" and magic reappearance of the "new" and better Plus 4 might simply be more hype than anything else.
