I need to replace the oil pressure spring and ball on my 912uls, which i will do at my next oil change. After replacing the spring/ball do i need to purge the oil system (if i don't lose much oil) or just follow the usual oil change procedure?
No purge necessary. As soon as you remove the old plug screw , spring and ball just quickly insert the new parts. You loose just a few tablespoons of oil. Safety wire the new plug screw in place and you're done. Do your normal oil change and rotate the prop to help fill the filter and you're ready to go.
I just have the new parts already assembled and when the old parts drop out I put the new assembly back in place. Very little oil loss.
