The posts on the BMAA forum were mine. I found that you can calibrate the Rotax standard tacho so that it is only accurate at one particular range. It is not that linear and the shape of the signal from the pick-up affects the frequency.
I guess that if you have a digital tacho or an EMS then I would trust the readings on that.
Correct. So rotax default gauge is poor.. I tuned it to match miniEIS on 4-5k RPM but on 2000 i have small difference.
It's not a problem on low but i could be better.
Anyway now it's ok.
Btw. Flybox made really good device (miniEIS). I'm flying on it from last week and it's very nice.
