coolant leak

I had a coolant leak on my 912uls and decided it was time to change the hoses as part of the 5year rubber replacement which is long overdue.
when I took the hose off of the water pump I discovered that my leak comes from a loose inlet tube coming from my water pump. how are these tubes fastened into the pump, threaded?
Any guidance on this would be appreciated.

Hi Tim,

It is screwed in. First mark the tube and and housing with a magic marker in the correct position before you turn it to remove it so you will know it's correct orientation. Use a heat gun and get it good and hot until it unscrews easily. Clean the threads on the tube and in the inlet with some lacquer thinner. I usually use a soft brush to clean these threads on top and down below for these tubed fittings. Personally I prefer to use Loctite 648 (green) over Loctite 243 (blue) on these these fittings. Seems I never have to go back and do them again. They won't come loose unless they are heated fairy hot.
